INSTALLING CAIRO DOCK 2.1.3 ON UBUNTU 10.04 (LUCID LYNX) WITHOUT INTERNET CONNECTION:

Ok here we go, to install cairo dock you will need a computer with dual boot having another operating system I.e Windows or any other OS with working internet connection.
All you need to install cairo-dock are the following Packages:


cairo-dock-core

cariro-dock-data

cairo-dock-plug-ins

cairo-dock-plug-ins-data

cairo-dock-plug-ins-integration

curl

libdb4.7

libetpan13

libgtkglext1

xdotool

you can download this packages from here
after download these packages copy these files to a flash drive or the drive you can access from within ubuntu .
Now copy the package folder to your ubuntu desktop, here you have two choices,first you can install by simply clicking these packages...the order of dependencies will be automatically solved by the debian package installer if you install them by starting from the bottom I.e by installing xdotool first and so on keep in mind that (libetpan13) depends on libdb4.7 so you have to install libdb 4.7 before libetpan13.
Other way of installing these package is terminal .open gnome-terminal or whatever terminal you use,change the directory to desktop:

# cd Desktop
#cd foldername

and then issue the following command:

#sudo dpkg -i *.deb

this will install all the cairo-dock packages in the folder.
Running For The First Time:
to run the cairo dock for the first time open up the terminal and issue the command:

#cairo-dock -c
(-c switch will force the cairo-dock to run without opengl this is suitable option for those who have problems with the gfx card configuration or opengl)

Other wise if you want to run the cairo-dock with opengl simply issue the command:

#cairo-dock -o
To make the dock run at startup just right click on the dock and select the option for running the dock on startup and you are done.
